My initiative project with placards for Zagare Regional Park '' Nature Is Our Home. Protect it!!! '' Hi everybody! I am Maria from Armenia , Yerevan. Since March i am volunteer in Zagare Regional Park.  Zagare Regional Park it is  place where you can enjoy wonderful nature, it is amazing place. One day i said it is like part of heaven and it's really truth.Near with Zvelgaitis mountain  there are lakes, where people usually spend weekend and can get rest . Unfortunately people don't care about nature, every week when we have to check that's place it is terrible view rubbbish everywhere.
I decided to do something unusual to help people, to show them, to be much more careful with nature.
Well few weeks ago i finished my project, i made placards you can see and understand meaning of my work on  pictures. Placards everywhere near with  lakes and not only. I really hope my idea will be useful.

EVS in Salakas :)

Hey guys!

My name is Hamza and I am Volunteer in Salakas, a little village between Utena and Zarasai. I work for the Grazute Regional Park and I arrived in February. I am originally from France and studies French-German Law in Paris.

What to say! So much, so much.
My village has 400 inhabitants and is really lovely.
We are two volunteers here, Andriy from Ukraine and me. We often go to the school or deep in the forest to cut bushes for example!
Sometimes, we simply stay in Visitor Center to host tourists, but two weeks ago for example, some of us went to Parliament for the Jubilee-ceremony of the Parks!
20 years!

Here come some pictures from the school, outside work, our week-end in Riga and Parliament!

Cheers!

Film project: third proposal

My project in Kurtuvenai Regional Park remains within the frame of my studies. I studied in forest management and I'm self-interested to know more about nature and animals.

I have a botanic project. In Pabijočiai's Zoological and Botanical Reserve I must to find protected plants, take GPS coordinates of plants to create a map. On that same place, I also must search three kinds of butterflies, if there are otter, beavers and eagles. It's not a really concrete project, so it's difficult to set up.
I also have two new ideas (but now I don't know if it's possible to realize):
  • suggest an excursion (in English) to discover beaver, with school or tourists;
  • organize a photography competition of the park with the topic "the cultural heritage and the nature".
I try to stay in my chosen field and do that I prefer.

Film project : second proposal

Showing sights in Žemaitija National Park

I want to show sights in Žemaitija National Park. Details can be discussed later. For example, I could give information about the Cold War Museum, show nice places around Lake Plateliai or Šeirės Nature Path. The camera coud accompany me and see how a tourist guide works. This is no specific project as I don't have my own project so far. For the same reason there is no specific date when it will take place – it should be a day with nice weather, maybe in the late summer. I chose this because it is related to my work as a guide in Žemaitija National Park, as far as I can see this will be one of my main tasks here.

To see some pictures about my life in Lithuania just visit my photo album on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aarondanielschaar/sets/72157629861748175/
Additional, you can visit my blog (sympathistan.blogspot.com). Unfortunately it is in German but there will also be photographs.

Film project : first proposal

With all the volunteers of the regional and national parks, we are going to realize a video report about our activities, life and feelings concerning this EVS project.

Let's try to find ideas !

Here is a short example of what I could say about my experience in the park :

My experience in the national park of Aukstaitija is completely in the continuity of my studies (video, graphic design and illustration) and very professional. I'm free to create my own projects and, by this way, to put in practice what I learned at school, to lead activities in my field of competences and to increase them. It's a perfect way to enter the active life. My main project is the organization of a small ice sculpture festival, next winter, on the frozen lake Lusiai. (It will take place in February-March 2013, so it won't be possible to have videos of the event but I can show meetings with the member of the community of the village and all the preparation). It's a big challenge, but I will have the help of all the community of our village, if it takes place it will be very exciting !
I'm also working on the design of a new natural trail in the woods, with informative and illustrated boards about animals and plants of the park, and maybe with little games too, in collaboration with the biologists. Then, I'm going to create a coloring book for children on the same subject, with drawings of animals and plants and short informative texts.
And finally, with Marta, we are realizing some very short video reports about traditional crafts of Lithuania (for the web site of the park) : we already met an old women who makes verbos, and we'll continue this work all along our stay here.
So I can say that my work here, as a general way, has for subject the issues of development and promotion of the lithuanian natural and cultural heritage.
